How to Freeze Chocolate

Never Run Out of Chocolate Again... Discover How to Freeze It!

Can You Freeze Chocolate?

Although freezing chocolate is pretty straightforward, it’s not simply a case of placing an un-opened bar directly in the freezer. You need to be careful not to ‘shock’ chocolate with drastic temperature changes, as this can affect both the taste and texture of your chocolate once defrosted. Here’s how to freeze chocolate safely and to preserve its taste:  Place in the fridge: You will need to refrigerate the chocolate that you plan to freeze for approximately 24 hours before you freeze it.  Wrap well: Whether you’re freezing a whole bar or individual portions of chocolate, you should wrap it well in cling film before placing it in the freezer.  Place in an airtight container: After wrapping your chocolate, lie it in an airtight container and seal. Label and freeze: Make a note of the date that you purchased the chocolate, as well as its suggested use-by date. Remember, you can freeze chocolate for around twelve months.
