How to Freeze Kale Juice

You have two options when it comes to freezing kale juice. You can either freeze it in portions of juice that would be enough for a drink or add to a recipe or use the ice cube method.

The ice cube method allows you to use the perfect amount of kale juice whenever you need it. You need to grab out a few ice cubes and pop them into your smoothies before blending.

How to Freeze Portions of Kale Juice

This is the appropriate method to follow if you want a complete drink frozen. The quantity will be enough for a full glass of kale juice:

  1. Prepare Containers: Ensure you have enough freezer-safe containers with lids. These can be Tupperware containers with lids or bottles that are safe to put in the freezer.
  2. Decant Kale Juice: Pour portions of kale juice into each container or bottle. Fill them so that you have enough for one portion of kale juice. This amount will depend on how you intend to use the kale juice. Measure out portions using a measuring jug.
  3. Seal: Put the lids onto the containers and make sure they are sealed tightly. Put the containers into a freezer bag and seal the bag. This helps to ensure that your kale juice is kept secure and keeps your freezer clean.
  4. Label: Label the bags with the contents and date. If you have specific measurements in the containers, you can also write these on to help you grab out the right amount when using the kale juice.
  5. Freeze: Put your portions of kale juice into the freezer and freeze them until you need them.

How to Make Kale Juice Ice Cubes

If you want to have smaller quantities of kale juice frozen, then using an ice cube tray can be the best approach to take:

  1. Get Ready: To prepare for this method of freezing kale juice, you need some ice cube trays, a jug, a large freezer bag that is resealable. You also need a permanent marker.
  2. Prepare Juice in a Juge: Put your kale juice into a jug. This will help to make it easier to pour into the ice cube trays accurately without spilling any.
  3. Pour Out: Pour kale juice from the jug into the ice cube tray sections. Leave a small gap at the top of each section to allow the kale juice to expand as it freezes.
  4. Flash Freeze: Place the ice cube trays carefully into the freezer. Keep them flat until the kale juice has completely frozen. When the kale juice as fully frozen all the way through, you can take the trays out of the freezer.
  5. Bag Up: Pop the cubes out of the ice cube tray and transfer them into a freezer bag. Squeeze out excess air from the bag and seal it tightly.
  6. Freeze: Label the bag with the name of the contents and the date and put it into the freezer.

Use Good-Quality Bags
If you are struggling to find suitable freezer-safe containers, you can invest in some good quality liquid freezer bags. These are designed to hold liquids without spilling or making a mess in the freezer.

Try Muffin Trays
If you want slightly larger portions of kale juice than an ice cube size portion, then you can use any freezer-safe tray or mould. Silicone muffin or cupcake trays work really well and allow you to freeze slightly more kale juice in each portion.

Leave Room for Expansion
When filling up the containers, you need to make sure you leave a good gap at the top of the container or bottle. This needs to be a couple of inches because the kale juice will expand as it freezes, and if you overfill the containers, the juice may burst out and all over your freezer.
